Located just a mile off the Hummingbird Highway, the Marie Sharp’s factory invites you into the heart of Belizean flavor. Known worldwide for its fiery hot sauces, Marie Sharp’s products are exported to numerous countries, including select Walmart stores in the United States. The tour takes you behind the scenes of this iconic brand, beginning with a walkthrough of the packaging process, where boxes are prepped for global delivery. You’ll visit the storage areas, brimming with future shipments, and witness the intricate preparation of sauces.
As you move through the facility, you’ll observe the careful handiwork of the ladies chopping fresh vegetables and cooking up batches of the beloved pepper blends. Strings of vibrant peppers are hung, awaiting their transformation into the famous hot sauces. Along the way, you’ll learn about the different heat levels they produce, ranging from mild to fiery hot and everything in between.
Beyond hot sauce, Marie Sharp’s produces a variety of delicious items including jams, jellies, natural fruit juices, and even wines, all of which are featured in the tour. At the end of the experience, you can explore the gift shop, where you’ll find a selection of these products to send back to loved ones or savor for yourself.
